I agree entirely with Al's comments on diet. I had kept fish for many
years without experimenting with frozen foods (I used mainly f-d), and was
successful. But recently I started supplementing a good general flake w/
frozen brine, frozen bloodworms, a discus mix (turkey heart, etc.), and
spirulina, and the fish look fantastic. I've had blue eyes triple in size
in a little more than a month. Of course, this tank also gets natural
sunlight in addition to aquarium lighting. Maybe there's something to this
too.
