And I'd like to share the same sentiment... it's an easy thing to do,
sending mail to the reply-to instead of the originator....

Roy, I think that it's hard to tar all the "pros" with one brush - you
will encounter incompetance in every profession occasionally.... ;-)

'Round here (Canberra, ACT) we have a distinct lack of what you refer to
as "clean" waterways - they are "infected" with Dambusia, Carp, Redfin,
Weather Loaches, all sorts of bad news... yet we still have some natives
left in isolated spots, Gadopsis and Galaxiids and Carp Gudgeons amongst
them... Gambusia were officially spread in Australia, by ill-informed
but well-intentioned people... others know a lot more about this than me.

Oh, BTW, for the benefit of Peter Unmack - SWMBO is using my computer at
the moment, so I am using my shell account and 2400 bps modem and the
kids' computer to write this - using PINE! ;)
