there is no facility for lists running under this version of majordomo to parse
the userlist and accept postings from not only the given addresses but all
aliases they and their service providers currently use.
Let me give you an example:
Fred joins the list as fred at fred.com.
But he may send mail via his virtual mailserver, fredmail.fred.com.
Mail may come from fred at fred.com, or it may appear to come from
fred at fredmail.fred.com. Or if fred.com gets bought out by Fredco
Conglomerated,
it could be fred at fredmail37.fred.com
Some might see this as sloppy, and they are certainly entitled to their
opinion.
So, without any sarcasm :) - when I say "Everyone can send to the list", what I
mean is, everyone with an email account anywhere can send email to
rainbowfish at pcug.org.au or rainbowfish at tip.net.au and it will be seen by
everyone who chooses to remain subscribed to the list.
Does that make sense? Anyone can send, only we see it.
Cheers, Andrew
