Perhaps this is the problem that the local breeder with these fish has had
problems, the well water that our tap water orginates from is about 7.6 pH
and 160-180 TDS. I am not sure if this guy is using RO water to cut down
the TDS. I know he did use peat .....ala killifish.
I need to look into the temperature affects on gertrudae also. I have
gotten more males than females, and over the summer the daily highs were
90+ °F and nightime lows were often 80 +°F. May have had simmilar affects,
seeing how these fish seem related. To bad they are not like furcata they
don't seem to have this problem with water....
