When I was in Oz I saw some neat little retangular, foldable fish-traps. They lookied like they could be, when opened about 2 foot x 12-18 inches x 12-18 inches. When folded though they folded flat to about 12-18 inches. Franz-Peter showed them in his video clip of Western Australia and he said they worked quite nice. It looks like they just set down on the bottom of the stream and then you bait them. Fish swim in and then can't find their way out. Bruce also had some when we were over at his place. I want to purchase some of those traps, hopefully over in the US. Questions: What do you call those types of traps so that I can hopefully find a match and #2 what size mesh is best for rainbowfish and also what size trap holes? Has anyone in the States ever seen what I'm talking about? I would think that if they work well for rainbowfish and gudgeons they should also work well for Darters, & minnows.
thanks,
Gary Lange
