Jack , Once i saw my Boesmani kept on flashing my G. Inciscus female .
Then the following morning i found both boesmani and G.I male Shaking and
quivering beside a G I female. I save as much as egg that stick to the java
moss. After raising it for several month just out of curiosity, i see this
Motley dirty looking bastard fry. Needless to say i destroyed the hybrid
soon afterward.
My point and other advice is :You can keep all similar size Bow in the
same aquarium just don't harvest the eggs. Let the rainbow spawn in separate
spawning tank without other rainbows. There is lots of advice for the
spawning tank size . I use a 15 gal tank with semi floating nylon mops . But
my friend also has the same rate of succes using 10 gal tank for G Inciscus.
So your milage may vary.

Yes G I female has no red color at all , only drab olive or greenish olive
color when young, getting brownish olive as the get older. Some G I males
doesnot have brilliant red because they are not dominant ( Baddest guy in the
block or tank) or stressed and could be confused as female .
Btw if you are in USA this story apply .Back when i acquire my first G. I ,
I couldnot find any female in fish store . all they have is male G.I then
while shopping at Walmart ( worst place for fish IMHO) i saw the female
G.I . I bought it and they are my first breeding female.
