I think that part of this problem is your typical average member never
voices their opinion on ANYTHING to the committee in writing. I know when
I was on the committee, I don't remember hearing a letter being read
asking for a different mix of articles. I know some members have made
verbal suggestions, but two or three people out of 3-400 don't hold as
much weight as 10 or 20 especially when it is only voiced to one person
and not the whole committee. If people would like to see articles of a
particular nature they should write some letters, not directly to Ron, but
to the National Committee (or both). Ron thinks he knows what most people
want and very few people have told him otherwise. As Bruce mentioned, he
has always been very concerned about having one rainbow article per issue.
Overall, rainbows dominate the club but it is nice to see stuff on unusual
and different fish. After all, bred one rainbow and you've pretty much
bred them all very broadly speaking (same for Mogurndas--purple spotted
gudgeons). :-)
