Well, Peter, I've had some of my little fishy stories published in
little fishclub mags all over the world, but like someone else on this
list I don't think I'll ever make FoS - I may have had one reprinted
story make the bulletin.
It is a good thing that FoS has had such high editorial standards over
the years but this same standard has alienated a lot of potential
contributors. The bulletin could be used to "train" writers I guess,
but that is a bit patronising as both Alan and myself have edited our
own publications and written a lot of stuff for others...
Just on this point - if ANGFA is such an "aquarists" organisation as
Adrian makes out, why do we have a magazine that is so
scientifically/conservationally oriented? ;)
Regards, Andrew

I'm sure the most common response is "I don't really know much about it",
or "my writing skills aren't very good". Yunno, all you need to do is
write down what you observe, what you did, what your experiences have
been. You don't have to have kept and bred a species for 10 years before
you can write about it. The editorial folks can help with writing
skills.
