When I lived in Mount Isa (western Queensland) I had a couple of archerfish
which had a preference for live food.
Initially we turned on an outside light and my wife used to catch moths with
her hands, later we found it more efficient to hang one of those electric
bug zappers outside, and collect the insects from the tray. As it turned out
the zapper didn't usually kill the insects, often just burning there wings
and stunning them. The archerfish didn't seem to mind there meals being
"toasted".
The only drawback to this was that the fish got lazy and stopped spitting at
passing moths. Now that is a sight to see when you are sitting down -
relaxing, watching your fish spit a continuous fine jet of water over the
living room floor :-)
