I had sent this out last week or so to the Rainbowfish mailing list, when my
old server (MSN) was acting up, so I don't know if it went out or what.
Also this time I'm sending it out to two other people that may have the
answer to this problem::

Two or so years ago ( maybe even three) when I first joined the Rainbowfish
mailing list (four E-mail address changes ago for me), someone had told of
a way to hold the color of fish for photographing them. I remember it was
using chemical of some kind. I also forgot if it killed the fish or stunned
them for a moment. Does anyone remember this stuff? The reason for this
question is that in a class that I am taking in Aquaculture we need to
collect twenty samples of fish and we can photograph the fish or fix and
preserve them. I haven't lost any fish in over a year so I don't want to
put any of my fish to the long sleep just to keep them in a jar, not the why
I want to see or keep my fish. I could go to the local pet shops and get
them but I like the idea of just using photo's. Is there anyone who
remembers or knows of the chem... mix. Thanks JiM C.
