It's finally gotten cool enough here to get in and really clean out my fish
room. It looks pretty good right now, much better than when you saw it. I've
been trimming back all the wild plant growth and the tanks all look much more
civilized now.<g>
I have some really bad news, I've been trying to avoid telling you but I guess I
will have to some time. The axelrodi are not doing too well at all. First one
just dissapeared, must have died somehow. Then the biggest one got a spot on
it's head, it was sometimes pink and sometimes dark gray. He stopped eating
wasted away and died. Now I'm down to three and one of them is acting strangely.
It hangs in the back of the tank, Doesn't play around with the other two,
doesn't seem to be eating. They are in a heavily planted tank, the same one they
were in when you were here. I've got pretty strong air on them, I've been doing
water changes like crazy. I've been giving them all sorts of flake and spirlena
and live foods. I've got a bunch of seed shrimp living in there now. I feel
really bad about this, it's really kind of stressing me out. Maybe I should see
if Julie would take them and see if she can do something for them. What do you
think? I don't want to kill them all. I don't know what to do next.
Well now that I have that off my chest so to speak I can tell you that all my
other rainbows are doing great. I'm hoping to be able to get a 125 or if not
another 50 to put them in by the first of the year. They are starting to get
kind of big so will need it for sure by then.
Sorry to have to give you the bad news, hope you'll forgive me.<g> I have some
more plants I can send you now also. If you still have any when you get home<g>
you can remind me which ones I gave you last time and I'll send you some other
ones.
