The size of the artificial rotifers is listed as 100-200 microns. This
seems like a possible good first food for rainbow fry, and even has the
much ballayhooed astaxanthin as an ingredient. Anyone, particularly you
europeans since it is reported as being widely used in european fish
hatcheries, used this? I'm thinking that, since it is suspended, it
might have some advantages over APR.
They also have an astaxanthin-added flake food:

Golden Pearls is a revolutionary new larval diet that has successfully
replaced live Artemia nauplii in marine fish hatcheries in Europe. A
patented processing technique (agglomeration of micro-encapsulated
particles) developed in Holland results in feed particles or
"clusters" that resemble raspberries (under the microscope). Golden
Pearls have tiny air pockets that keep the feed particles in the water
column, not on the bottom of the tank, and mimics live brine shrimp
nauplii.
Golden Pearls come in two particle sizes:
Rotifer Golden Pearls 100-200 microns (Rotifer / Artemia Replacement)
Artemia Golden Pearls 200-300 microns (Artemia Replacement)
