Hallo Michael!
I. werneris are a very nice fish.
I think it is important to keep them alone in a tank or with other
fishes which don't overshine them. They are very filigree and tender.
Here, around Cologne, it is quite difficult to get I. werneri in a
good shape. Even the members of the IRG are not abel to offer them
periodical...
...may be because this fish is a little bit more difficult to keep and
breed than other members of the family...?
5 month ago I bought 4m/3f healthy looking werneris in a recommended
"fish marked" near Bonn.
I keep them in a well plantet 100g-tank with soft water around pH 6,5
and 25°C.
The food consist of living micro and artemia, frosen black mosquito
larve and pulverized dry food.
The werneris share there tank with a shoal of M.praecox and some small
Cory's and Ancistrus. (One world, one tank ;-)
Due to poisoning by a bad root I lost most of them - very sad.
One pair survived and look and behave very well.
But just two of them is not the right thing.
Again I'm looking for them...
Kind regards,
Michael
