Hi Conway:
Are the adult praecox the only fish in the tank?If so
you will be taking fry out till the day the adults die. That will be
hundreds of fry.The fry are very small and feed only at the surface
of the water. Most fry usually starve for lack of food. What worked
very well for me was ground up flake food(into a talc like
consistancy). If you just want to raise just a few of them then just
net out the 2 wk. old fish(tenth of an inch)and put them in a
tank, with their org. water and fed bbs.You can raise them ok on dry
food but will get better results on bbs.
By the way if you are going to raise them in small cont.s put in
snails to eat the excess food otherwise youll foul the water.I have
raised many hundreds of them using the ground up food method.

Good luck Hank

PS I spawn then using mops leave them in the tank for a week and
then place the mop in a hatching tank.
