I need your help. I am trying to organise a shipment of fish from the USA to Canada, where I will be this summer for a couple of days (Edmonton). I am trying to avoid doing a USA-Germany shipment as the procedures are just too unnerving.
I have found out that there are no customs restrictions for aquarium fish, and that as a hobbyist you don't need a permit or license to send/receive fish from USA to Canada. The fish will be inspected by the USA Fish and Wildlife Service beofre sending. What I have not been able to find out is whether the fish can be delivered door-to-door from the sender to the address where I will stay (a hotel), or whether I would have to go and pick up the shipment at airport customs in Edmonton. The latter would be somewhat problematic for various reasons. Unfortunately the Canadian customs are not replying to my emails, for whatever reason.
Does any of the US or Canadian list members have any experience with shi! pping fish from USA to Canada, or any hints?
