I picked up a locally made timer at Home Depot. It's electronic with a simple on/off function which is all I need. There was a great selection and a wide range of prices and complexity.
This unit cost $13+ US which is a great price. It's designed for heavy duty outdoor use to control block heaters, exterior lights etc. It has a rated capacity of 1875 watts.
