Being spurred on by the account of goby collecting by Cyrus, I went down to
the Swan River myself to collect some specimens. After about four pulls of
the fish trap I had caught nothing but shrimps, but on pull number five
there were two rather large long gobies in the trap. Once in the bucket it
was clear that i had caught a pair of Arenigobius bifrenatus.

What I want to know is if they have been bred in captivity and what is the
best salinity water to keep them in. I transfered them to freshwater from
water of about 20 ppt over a period of a day using a dripper. Three days
later they are happily living in freshwater and eating like little "pigs".

Anyway thats my little collecting story!

PS If you have never seen these gobies, look in Freshwater Fishes of
Australia, they are even better in real life. :-)
