already have the Gerald Allen book on rainbowfishes in nature and the
aquarium, but i would like to know more on the goby's and gudgeons you all

Welcome to the list Troy! I would recommend "Australain Native Fishes for Aquariums" by Leggett and Merrick published in 1987 and available from all discerning aquarium shops or from the publisher.

and Bronze Corys???>>
I don't think you would have any trouble with compatibility between those groups.
