Peter's correct. [Amazing! :^)]

Pay particular attention to the bottom. Place tank on dark construction
paper or paint the outside a dark color. I like a layer of boiled peat in
the tank. Fish over a light or transparent bottom are unusually spooky. The
back and ends can be painted or papered over, too.

I like an overturned pot or inverted potpourri candle holder as structure
and hiding space, plus a big wad of Java moss. For more reclusive species,
like gudgeons or some Betta species, a lot of oak leaf litter on the bottom
is appreciated. Mops are great for most rainbows as both structure and
breeding traps for eggs. 200 strands of heavy acrylic rug yarn works best
for me. Forget skimpy mops. They just hold the eggs around in plain sight to
be eaten.
