Diving in October is pretty nice. Remember to do any of the great dives
though you've heard about you'll have to spend a lot of time getting there.
There are some pretty good live-aboards going out of Cairns. We did one
of the 4 day live-aboards back in -93. A shorty is really all that was
required but if one is a chilly-willy a little something extra might be
handy. We went out on a boat called the Taka II, I can't right now
remember the name of the company. All of the books said if you can spare
the time do the coral sea instead of the GBR. The GBR at that time of the
year wasn't as clear as I would have imagined it. Oh yeah ah Harvey's
creek is just a bit down the road from Cairns so it makes for a good excuse
to go up there.
