My suggestion is not to keep werneri & gertrudae together. The
gertrudae will be ok but the werneri need to be kept alone to breed
and thrive. They won't hold their own against the gertrudae. In the
river there is enough space for everyone to have a territory and
breed. A tank is a different story.
