I start them off with astaxanthin power and BS Directs Golden Pearls
(100-200 micro size) as first foods. I tried BS Directs decapsulated BS
but the fry do prefer the real thing! However, if you can start them off on
the decapsulated it is much easier than trying to "convert" them once they
experienced the thrill of the hunt.
After the "powder food" stage, I add Cyclops-eze. It's a food sold thru
Argent ( It's made by a company here in Seattle) They gave me samples and I
really like using this product. I also feed it to my juvies & adults by
pinching it to form a small pellet.
Using these first foods, along with vinegar eels, all my fish (especially
the C. bleheri) have great coloring.
