There might be some advantages to having a culture (assuming it's not
too difficult to keep), like not having to worry about the naturose
oxidizing, getting the astaxanthin in a better form (??) when using it
to gut-load daphnia, being able to put a mop of eggs directly in the
culture, not having to worry about overdosing, and having a cheap,
renewable source of astaxanthin.
It might be fun to give it a try...
