Hi Alex! It is good to find someone "in the trade" who is willing to listen
and learn as you are.
ANGFA(ACT) and several leading members of ANGFA(National) tried working with
the national Aquarium here in Canberra - the pity of it was that while
*some* of the curatorial staff were sincere, the management was not.
It shall be to my eternal regret that we could not come to some accomodation
with them - they have the largest freshwater aquarium in the Southern
Hemisphere now (someone correct me if I am wrong)... But in the end we did
the right thing by walking away.
What really got to me was the enormous potential of the place... we had such
big plans! Uncmack, you spoke earlier that Trout Cod were not suitable for
the average aquarist? Well maybe they aren't - but we had a tank picked out
for them there, and support in the form of some fish lined up, before the
deal fell through - we may have even bred them!
ANGFA(ACT)'s own "flagship" species...
Oh, well, good luck to you Alex, and my thanks for bringing the Fishes of
Sahul to the general public.
