I bet you feel better now and a little lighter on your feet :-)
Every job has it's drawbacks and that just makes the challenge better. It
can also have rewards proportionate to the challenges you have had to
overcome to succeed.
As Neil Armstrong says " nobody succeeds like a budgie!" ;-)
For your display, since it already has a step at the back (if I recall
correctly) you could have a wide water return to the tank from the
filtration system( or a powerhead ) about 1/3 along the back from one end
and curve your rocks and wood from each side of it stepwise to the front to
provide planting pockets of differing heights/depths to provide security
and background to the fish and with authentic plants that are cosmopolitan
as well as Australian ( e.g. Vallisneria spiralis and gigantea,
Ceratopteris, Hydrilla, Ceratophyllum) and hopefully some more specifically
Australian plants such as Glossostigma for the foreground and some bunches
of Eusteralis ( = Dysophila= Pogostemon),. Limnophila australis, Hygrophila
salicifolia and a few Aponogeton elongatus for accent. If you have enough
light they should grow and look great although I admit some supplementary
CO2 and PMDD would help too.
At least the tank is big enough to look good with schools of Rainbows of
the different species wheeling around. Another powerhead playing along the
front glass would keep some of the fish always in view.

doing my best,as are a lot of keepers, but this zoos as an education
facility has really only caught on in the last few years.>>
