Re: [RML] This seems serious....

sounds like this can be a very serious problem if it continues. How about a
few particulars. I also like to know EXACTLY what water changes and water
chemistry look like. There have been more than a few occasions on this list
where someone said their water chemistry was fine, then we find out they are
doing 5-10 % water changes monthly :-) Unless your water company has done some
drastic changes to the water and that is causing your problems I would do a 50%
water change before you leave, unless you've been doing those 5%/month changes.
If you have been doing very small changes I would do a 25% change now and
another one 8 hours from now.
Have you added a new fish in the last week to 10 days? That can cause
territorial problems. Heater is probably not broken/shorted otherwise you
would have felt it when you dished out the dead guys. Most other problems I
would guess would leave your fish all pretty sickly, say bug sprays,
cigars/cigarettes in the tank (you'll be amazed at what people will do at a
party sometime).
If it is a territorial problem and you have just added a new fish, remove him.
Hope you figure it out before you leave.

* Hope that all of you RML'rs had a happy holiday. Well this morning it's the
day after christmas here in the states. Isn't that what the canucks call
"boxing day"??? Box it up and take it back??? Hope you all got that big fish
tank you were looking for!!
