The above does not reduce algae blooms, but it will not help or assist the
plants to grow better this is a fallacy. George Booth (of Usenet fame)
did tons of experiment with lighting periods on algae an plants and found
the intermittent lighting did nothing for or against algae. He did say
something that plants need six-eight hours to get photosynthesis going
at the proper rates so plants can store some nutrients.
