[RML] psuedomogil questions

I bought some fish (Telmatherina ladigesi) a few months ago, with the
all-too-common phrase "I'll take them all." Well, when I got these fish
home, I discovered that there was a stoway...same basic shape, but
obviously a different fish. After looking around (and thanks to this
list, I knew it was a Pseudomogil of some sort), I found Gary Lange's
picture of Pseudomogil signifer...my stoway. It is really
inconsequential, but I am curious how he might have gotten in a shipment
of T. ladigesi? And, what do I do with this little blue-eye? From
early January until a week or two ago he was fine, just made himself
part of the school. Then he started acting strange, staying right ON
the surface, and he always looks like he is breathing very fast (opening
and closing his mouth quickly). He got moved to another tank, where
there are far more plants (it is where i put the clippings i don't want
to throw away), but he doesn't look to have made any changes. I briefly
added him back to the T. ladigesi tank when I added some Melanotaenia
praecox, but after a day (I realize I didn't give him/her long), he
hadn't changed and was still staying in a corner away from everyone
else. He used to be the most active (and the hardest to photograph, or
I would have asked you guys a long time ago what he/she is), but not
anymore. Is he old? Do I need more P. signifers? I hope not, because
I'll NEVER find them around here (since I obviously only ran across this
one by accident). Sorry if this is rambling a bit, but I'm torn between
the excitement of the new M. praecox, finally figuring out what this
little fish is, and the fact that I'm affraid he's not long for this
world (he's also my girlfriend's favorite).
TIA for anything,
Cameron
