Dear Colleagues,
The National Institute of Ecology (NIE) is organising an
International Conference on Ecorestoration in New Delhi
during 14-18 January 2002. The conference is cosponsored by the
Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) of USA, the
International Society for Tropical Ecology (ISTE), and the Indian
Society of Agricultural Sciences. The Conference is likely to
be supported by the Shastri-Indo-Canadian institute in Canada
and the Planning Commission of the Govt of India.
The conference will cover all aspects of the science,
application, practice and policy related to ecological
restoration in all kinds of degraded habitats/ecosystems
(terrestrial, aquatic (rivers, lakes), wetlands, coastal
areas, mangroves, etc. Socio-economic aspects of
ecorestoration will receive special attention. We expect
case studies and success stories to be presented.
All those interested in ecological restoration for any reason
are cordially invited to participate in the conference.
Last date for submission of Abstracts (less than 500 words)
is 31 October 2001.
