Hiya Rhonda!

I just got home and couldn't resist checking the email. I was very
disappointed that you weren't able to make the convention. Peter and
Julie made it, but even they had car problems which got them there late
Friday evening. I must say that meeting folks in person changes your
perspective and in most cases adds a depth to the personas of the "real"
people behind the names on this list that email just can't match.
Before I say anything about any RML'ers, I want to say that Jonathon
Cobb of the SFAS (their club secretary) was a fantastic host and is
someone I would certainly hope to remain friends with. He gave me and
my friend, Kriss Evans, a ride to the behind the scenes tour of the
Steinhart Aquarium and then gave us a mini-tour of some places on
Clement Street, the Golden Gate Park and turned us and Brian Lang onto a
fantastic Chinese meal that fed all four of us for $18.00!!! I can't
say enough kind words about Jon. The SFAS members did a wonderful job
in organizing this convention and he certainly went above and beyond the
call of duty in his role of ambassador.

The convention...this was an event that will stay with me for quite a
while. I met Bruce Hansen, Neil Armstrong, Roy Hunter, Cary Hostrawser,
Brian Lang, Jerry Allen and his wife, Gary Lange, Gilbert MaeBe, Jim
Cappelle, Alexsei Sanders and many others... All of the speakers were
entertaining and informative. I hope everyone makes it home safe as all
of them have given me memories and food for thought that I wouldn't want
tainted by misfortune. I am now the proud owner of some Psuedomuegil
Cyanodorsalis, M. Trifasciata Latram River and M. Maculosus
bows...heaven is possible here on earth...fleeting as it may be. I am
very excited about these new arrivals and I hope once my fishroom is
completed to contribute to Cary's species maintenance program. I really
enjoyed his presentation on this and I hope everyone with the means
takes on a species or two does so. Well reality calls and so I'm off to
catch some Zzzz's and then to jump back into the rat race...catch ya'
later!!!

Best Regards,
