Convention Costs
Standard Registration $120.00
Both days of convention attendance including full buffet lunches, morning &
afternoon teas and admission to the Saturday night auction.
Single Day Registration $70.00
For either Saturday or Sunday and includes buffet lunch, morning & afternoon
tea and admission to the Saturday night auction.
Convention Dinner $35.00
Guaranteed to be fabulous. 3 chefs from the Ritz Carlton Hotel (5 star world
class hotel) will be assisting with the preparation of a scrumptious meal.

Prices include a full buffet breakfast. Apartments are fully self contained
with full kitchen facilities. These prices are limited to the first 50
rooms. If more rooms are needed there will be a $10 surcharge. Book early!
This being the 10th Anniversary Convention, plans are afoot to make it the
biggest and best yet! The weekend will begin with our ANGFA National AGM on
Friday night at 8.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
On Saturday and Sunday the convention will run from 8.30am to 5.30pm. We
have some great speakers lined up for you including Alex Ritchie - fish
fossil expert, Walter Ivanstoff, "Buzz" Wilson - principal research
scientist at the Australian Museum, Steve Pyecroft - leading aquatic
veterinarian, Martin Robinson- walking enclopedia , and much, much more! We
will be presenting a full program of lectures, slideshows and discussions on
the fishes and aquatic environments of Australia & New Guinea. At this stage
we will have Neil Armstrong and Heiko Bleher as our special guests.
Saturday evening will be our very special Annual Convention Dinner, followed
by the famous ANGFA Auction. This is your chance to purchase many rare and
valued specimens of fish, plants and other items.
After the convention is over we are planning tours of Sydney Aquarium and
Taronga Zoo, and a visit to Canowindra to the famous fish fossil site.
Please register your interest in this trip early.
The Oxford Koala Hotel is located only a couple of hundred metres from the
centre of Sydney. Most attractions are very close by- City shops, theatres,
cinemas, Australian Museum, Chinatown, Oxford Street, Darling Harbour,
Sydney Aquarium, Powerhouse Museam and the Maritime Museum. Buses and taxis
stop just outside the front of the hotel, and the Airport Express bus stops
across the road. The cost of the Airport Express bus is only $5.00 one way,
and a return ticket is only $9.00
The hotel has undercover parking, cocktail bar and rooftop swimming pool.The
Airport (both international and domestic is 10 minutes away, as is Central
Railway Station. Buses and ferries are easy to find to get to the Opera
House, Circular Quay, Taronga Zoo and Manly Aquarium (marine displays).
