On weatherloaches: Brian Pratt is said to have made the first
"official" sighting of weather loaches at Ginninderra Ck below the
Lake Ginninderra dam wall in Belconnen, Canberra in 1980. I grew up
around there and was catching them at least 2 years earlier than that,
in amongst the Gambusia, Long-Necked Turtles and Yabbies that were
there :)

How many years were weatherloaches in Australia before they were
released? They were first found in the wild around 1980. I'm sure they
had been imported for many years before that.
