How many years were weatherloaches in Australia before they were
released? They were first found in the wild around 1980. I'm sure they
had been imported for many years before that.

I don't think it is a matter of whether they have established in the wild
in Australia, more so what the likelyhood is that they will establish if
released. This is a far more sensible approach in my opinion. Lest we
complain that governments act after the horse has already bolted. The
importation of weatherloaches was prohibited after they were found in the
wild. What a waste of time as it was already too late. Are you
suggesting that that approach would be a wise one Adrian?
