3 or 4 years ago Ian Michels produced one albino M. nigrans (Scott's Creek) from breeders from me. Unfortunately it died when he became excited about the possibilities and transferred it to a separate tank. I am not aware of any others.
My understanding is that albinism is a simple recessive gene so I suggest it be paired back to a parent which should be heterozygous for albinism and the fry should result in approx. 50% albinos. Failing that pair to siblings but they could be either het
erozygous carriers or not carry the gene at all. Only a test mating would reveal this.
Albinos are notoriously less vigorous in most instances so will probably be better raised at lower light levels and will probably be more sensitive to all stressors.
