These aquarists' experiments may or may not aid the scientific community -
but they will aid all aquarists in the long run if they are properly
documented. This would certainly please a few editors around the place!
It's hard to know the best place to publish this information, though.
Fishes of Sahul does get around to quite a few countries, but I'm not sure
if Ron would go for this sort of thing. Maybe the various ANGFA/RSG and
members' web pages, with appropriate pointers in the rest? Could we start
the "RDP" (Rainbowfish Documentation Project)? It would be a big effort, I
guess. Collation of anecdotal information on all the species would be a
good start, with experiments to verify - the calcium discussion was
interesting, with some fishes being hatched in water of Red Sea hardness,
others being hatched in almost distilled water by comparison, and the
TB/Ulcer discussion was good value too - maybe we all we really need to do
via this list is to appoint an official summariser! Comments?
