Adrian - not meaning to get picky, but - we are aware of the problem and are
bothering people all over the world in an attempt to rectify it. Most have
come back with "I dunno, I pay for the mailing list, so if there's a problem
with it I get the guy to fix it".

Unfortunately, Alan and I are not in a position to demand anything of the
PCUG/AUUG in regard to the list - they have allowed us to have the list for
free on sufference, with the understanding that they may pull the list at
any time it becomes a problem to them. They are nice guys, so I have no
reason to believe that such a course of action would be taken *unless* the
list becomes a major inconvenience.

The basic upshot is, we *will* fix the problem, when we know how. In the
meantime, I suggest that you and every other member of the list create a
nickname (I call mine RML) with rainbowfish at pcug.org.au as the real address,
and just physically change the "To." field on each posting. There is a
explanation of this in the latest newinfo FAQ, which you probably got
Version 1.0 of when you subscribed, Adrian. You can retrieve the latest
version (V 1.2, such as it is) by sending mail to:

majordomo at auug.org.au

with:

info rainbowfish

in the body of the text. I suggest that all interested members of the list
do this once a month or so, it will contain important administrivia updates
(that should go to the list anyway, granted).
