I've been looking for something with Praziquantal <PraZ -Quantell> in it ever since I heard a talk by David Schlesser in Texas last September. Seemed it would be good for some worms. As with all medications it would probably be best to isolate and treat the sick fish though instead of dumping meds into the established tank. Make sure you have an established filter and keep checking the ammonia levels in the isolation tank.
** Just a thought on Schlesser. IF you are ever thinking about taking the Amazon house boat trip sign up for one of Dave's tours thru Margarita Tours. He really knows his stuff and EVERYONE that I know that has gone on tour with him has enjoyed it. There are some other guys, like the nameless moron, out of St. Louis that prides himself upon not knowing a single scientific name of any of the flora or fauna on the trip! If you google his name you should find an addy or a way to contact him.
You didn't say anything about your water changing habits. If you're not doing 30-50% water changes your nitrates can be building up. Most of your books say nitrates aren't a problem but I think it does affect rainbowfish. Get them messed up on one thing (like nitrates) and then you start seeing other problems like parasites that they normally might fight off. Again, for any new fish ALWAYS put them in an isolation tank 2-3 weeks before placing in your larger tanks.
