A question for the Qlders. Have any of you collected around the boundary
of M. duboulayi and M.s. splendida? Where do you think it is? Wager's
fish distribution of Qld suggests the two species overlap around
Gladstone although I feel this is more likely misidentifications. Anyone
want to give their two bobs worth? Also, how far north have folks
collected Hypseleotris galii? I have seen fish from Gin Gin Ck and I
know they are not found in the Fitzroy or Burdekin basins despite there
being records from there. I have seen the specimens and these are
Midgley's carp gudgeon. Also, remember that the 2nd photos in Merrick &
Schmida and Leggett & Merrick of H. galii are actually Midgley's. (don't
try asking Leggett about it though, he gets somewhat pissy) :-)
