What is it with Americans and sponge filters? I think you all have
spongy brains. I use a round goldfish bowl undergravel filter in a small
container full of gravel

Container full of gravel for a brain Pete? I must admit I'm not surprised. (My first posting, my first flame. I could not resist the opportunity) :).

Hi to every body, and special hello to the Unmarcked. Now that I'm email-literate you will get your information.

I have managed to browse the list for two days. Kathy, my wife, edited all the SPAM from the first days postings before she would let me look. Having now read yesterdays I think I missed much interesting banter. Although I truly admit that I will never ha

ve time to read it all.

WRT filters. Keep it simple. I have tried every type of filter including corner box filters to a system of twenty odd tanks all fully recirculating through an algal turf filter. I now have the most simple spronge filter in all my holding tanks (from fry t

o breeder tanks). They are simple, they don't leak, they clean with a squeeze, and they save me heaps of time. The only problem I have is that sometimes rainbows (M. parkinsoni) deposit their eggs on them in preference to mops.

Cheers
