I use Aquari-Sol (Zycosin - soluable copper salts) to rid my tanks of
hydra. It doesn't do much for snails but I've had a very good luck
using it in even fry tanks. Recently I had some hydra in two tanks of
P paskia (both fry and adults). The fry didn't seem to mind it a bit,
but the adults got all clamped finned when I used it. After a water
change and they were happy again but the hydra haden't been wiped
out. On the off chance it was a fluke, I tried it again and got the
same results. Hopefully the hydra are gone now. But what areally
question is there are some very young paskia in with them that didn't
seem bothered at all by the Aquari-Sol.
