Recently I bought some M. praecox and I'm a bit confused now.
The shopowner told me that these were 'Dutch bred' praecox and if they
were fed anything else but flake food, they would die eventually.
I thought this was a bit weird so I'd also fed them frozen food and they
seem fine up to now. Anyone heard of this before, should I stop on the
mosquito larvae etc?
How can you tell the difference between the sexes? They all have different
body shapes and they all have red fins. The salesman told me that you 'could
not tell the difference with Dutch bred, only with wild catch'.
Now and then I see them chasing and fighting each other, and 'twirling' around
each other. Did they sell only males or is this common mating ritual?
Thanks for your time and help!
