There is a store in Milwaukee, WI called Hoffer's Tropic Life. One of
the larger pet stores you'll ever be in. With a really great selection
of fish. They have a couple of 190 gallon planted tanks full of some
of the nicest bows you'll ever see. Like many American stores, you do
have to look out for crosses. About half the bows they get in to sell
look to be crosses.
But those display tanks really can show people what they'll get if
they take care of those little ones.
Actually for anybody going through that part of the country, Milwaukee
is really a hot bed for fish shop hopping. I've seen more variety and
lower prices than any other city I've ever passed through. I usually
make a special trip about once a year, but then its only a five hour
drive each way :~)
