Poor Andrew H. - I'll bet he didn't expect his throwaway line to be taken
up so keenly.
In my opinion there are few if any truly enhanced photos of Rainbowfish
around. I agree that some shots have been "optimised" by the expert
photographer getting the fish in top condition;. supplying ideal conditions
for display; stimulating the fish to behave in spawning or dominance
display patterns and therefore top colour through applying a knowledge of
that species; then using the camera and expert photographic technique to
capture the moment. To my mind that is what we all should be aiming at as
much as possible - displaying our fish at their best and happiest.
So instead of thinking that the shot is enhanced perhaps we should be
pushing the idea that "THAT"S WHAT THAT FISH COULD LOOK LIKE IF YOU GAVE IT
THE RIGHT CONDITIONS!"
