Subject: Reasons for the Loss and Degradation of Australian Wetlands

A special issue (Volume 7, Nos 1-2) of the journal Wetlands Ecology &
Management contains 8 papers on 'Reasons for the Loss and Degradation of
Australian Wetlands'.

A series of case studies and assessments were used to outline the major
ecological and non-ecological reasons for wetland loss and degradation. Many
of the reasons and lessons are applicable to wetlands elsewhere in the
world.

Copies of the journal issue can be obtained through your normal library
services or from the publishers - Kluwer Academic Publishers Group, PO Box
