Thanks to all of you that attended, hope you all had a good time. For those
of us in the US I think it was the first time that we got such a heavy dose of
where the fish come from, and sometimes how difficult it can be to collect in
these remote areas. If anyone had ever doubted what I said about Neil
Armstrong's awesome slides then they were certainly amazed. Gilbert Maebe also
had some pretty good shots too. And in the last 4 years Dr. Allen's slides
have also greatly improved. His location shots have always been pretty cool
but even his fish pics (when given the proper time to shoot) really looked
nice. For the RSG members we will be publishing this year and next some of
Gilbert's photos. Keep those articles coming (hint-hint)!
When I get the final totals on numbers of rainbowfish that were in the auction
I'll post them here. Our pre-auction list had some 38 species/locations listed
but I'm sure we went over that. The RSG will have a small get-together next
year at Niagra Falls in September. It certainly won't be anything like this
(rainbow-wise) but the Penn-Council puts on a good show and there are many big
names already signed up to talk.
cheers,
Gary Lange
