Harro - the syndicate would operate on the premise that those involved
would put up cash to buy one or two species. This would necessarliy
mean that each person would be confident enough in their abilities to
breed and distribute the fish. Right away this eliminates some people.
The agreement between the other members of the syndicate would be
that each of them would do the same with whatever species they
purchase and then distriubte the offspring to all the other syndicate
members for the cost of shipping only.

The members of the syndicate could discuss on what fish to purchase
based on rarity or other factors.

In this way all the members get a bunch of species for little more than
the
price of one. And the original seller gets to sell the fish at a price
that's
he feels is fair to him. In this way no umbrella group would have to
subsidize anyone (I DID say that I was only thinking out loud ), and the
fish would be more widely distributed. More species would be in more
hands and this would mean that they would be available to other
hobbyists at a price that MORE people could afford. Again I see it as a
win/win for everyone involved.

I'm open to ideas here. I already have two people interested in working
something out. I'm looking for about 6 in total. If you have an improved
idea etc., or want in or want to start your own syndicate let me know.

Chris
