Maculosis is not an easy fish to keep going for me anyway. I breed a few
but the few I breed I keep.

I have always been confused why someone will buy shit fish from a store but
wont but good fish that are often half as much.

I do what I can for the hobby but it does cost a fair amount. I get a lot
of enjoyment out of it but I am not going to give it away when it is a very
costly venture and a TON of work. I did my part by making it available.
Where else are you going to get fish of this quality and genetic stability?

The fish I bring back should, and I have preached this before, be the
foundation for any species maintenance program because of the good genetic
diversity. But due to some politics and ego problems it doesn't happen. I
dont care really, I have done my part and I have some FANTASTIC fish in my
tanks that I am very proud of. Each and every one has a different story and
reminds me of my trip every time I look at them. Why I was looking at my
conniea last night and they reminded me of Good old Adrian squeezing
himself in that new little car of his and he couldn't figure out what any
of the buttons did. One minute wipers next heat then AC then blinkers... I
am just glad he didn't find the EJECT button!!! :-) I dont plan on loosing
anything but it does happen. I know where they live and someday I may have
them back but I dont worry about it. Like I said, I have done my part and
the sales is the way I pay for the shipping of getting them here. As far as
trading... What the hell do I trade for????? What is out there that I dont
have or decided not to keep anymore. Somewhere it is chiseled in stone that
roy has introduced somewheres around 70-80 different rainbowfish into the
US. I cant keep them all nor do I try but after I send out 50 or so to 6
or 8 different folks then it is not my responsibility to keep them going.
It ended there. I encourage trading as much as possible and hope it takes
place. That is the only way Hunters creek inornatas will be here for future
hobbyists to enjoy!
Some will make it and some wont. That is just the way it is.
