Unfortunately Craig, you are mistaken. despite the geographic proximity
fish from PNG have been forbidden imports to Australia for many years now.
The fish we have arrived here before the ban (most species) except for a
few
that have arrived in various unexplained ways that are yet to be
revealed.
Most of these are of the same genetic stock as those in Europe and America
