<<Has anyone heard of a plant called Glossostigma? It's supposed to be
native to Australia, and actually supposed to be found in NSW.>>

Michael,
there are 2 species of Glossostigma found in Australia and New Zealand (
apparently they are very similar except for the flowers.) and it has been
the source of a lot of enquiries since the Amano books came out.

I have grown it outside for a couple of years in shallow water and fairly
bright light where it stays very short. In an aquarium it seems to do
better with CO2 and good light and grows larger leaves and more vertical
stems.

It is interesting how this little plant has got around in the last few
years - the stock that Peter Hughes got from Dave Wilson originally came
from the wild in Victoria ( by Doug Priestly) to Lance Smith in Townsville
to Kerry Gough to me in Brisbane to Dave Wilson in Darwin and thence to
Peter in Canberra.
