OK Peter -

How about we advise the Killiekeepers that we are concerned about the
possible environmental impact these 3 genera (Aphanius, Fundulus,
Cyprinodon) could have on a few of the threatened native species and their
habitats (and list the species and locations to avoid the "mushroom"
influence on co-operation). I would hope that they could publish this in
their publications every few months as well as keep their ears open for any
news of those species being here.

I think if we want their co-operation we need to stress that we are not
trying to limit what species they keep or "tip off the Feds" , we just
want to make sure those hobbyists are aware of the potential risks.
Hopefully we may be able to keep, it a "win/win" situation.
